Sr. Electrical Engineer, Amazon Leo

Amazon Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. We are looking for the next member of our avionics development team who are building critical components for Amazon Leo satellites. We are looking for an exceptional engineer who combines superb technical and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to deliver hardware.

Key job responsibilities

• \tDesign digital and analog circuits in collaboration with various teams.
• \tDesign for high-speed serial links that interface to FPGA and / or SoC circuitry
• \tPerform ECAD schematic capture of circuit designs.
• \tLead design reviews of hardware systems; such as architecture, schematic, PCB layout reviews.
• \tDevelop bring-up test plans, as well as leading qualification and production test plan development.
• \tLead debug efforts for avionics and power subsystems.
• \tLead requirement derivation and traceability for hardware subsystems.
• \tSupport subsystem production ramp and larger system integration.
• \tBe a technical leader / role model; instilling best practices across the full development lifecycle.

A day in the life

As a Sr. Electrical Engineer, you will work in a multi-disciplinary environment to design and deliver hardware for space. This requires the ability to work from concept to production. Candidates must be comfortable to work in the lab to debug and verify their designs. Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment where product owners are expected to deliver results by solving technical problems quickly.

Our team is responsible for delivering production hardware subsystems for the satellite gateway assembly. We take ownership and work hard to deliver the highest quality solutions to support the long-term success of Amazon Leo. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $128,600 / year in our lowest geographic market up to $213,600 / year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
