American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro Stepdown and Epilepsy Monitoring Unit position requiring strong neuro experience and a WV or compact RN license.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position located in an acute care Neuro Stepdown & Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU)Unit has 31 beds (25 Stepdown, 6 EMU) with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 : 3 for stepdown and 1 : 5-6 for EMUTypical patient population includes higher acuity neuroscience cases such as EVD, TPA post-treatment, strokes, seizures, and craniotomiesCommon titratable drips include Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, dopamine, Nipride, Ketamine, Lasix, Bumex, and insulinUtilizes Epic EMR; Epic experience requiredRNs may float to 7E, 7W, 7NE, or 10W as neededDay shift : three 12-hour shifts, 7am-7 : 30pm, including Friday, Saturday, and SundayWeekend and holiday rotation requiredCharge nurse and respiratory therapy staff available 24 / 7Royal blue scrubs requiredRNs provide care for neuro patients with diverse and complex conditionsAll stepdown-qualified RNs must be proficient with neuro nursing protocolsCharge nurse is available at all times for supportFirst-time travelers may be consideredReturning employees must have a 2-year break from previous employment or travel assignments within the health systemInitial orientation consists of two shifts on the unitCOVID-19 vaccination is required, with medical or religious exemptions considered\n \n Requirements\n
