Role and Responsibilities
- EMS Provider Candidate will be required to attend and successfully complete EMT training. Once EMT certification is obtained, you will have EMT responsibilities while obtaining your paramedic certification.
- Through classroom instruction and practical training, recruits study EMS procedures.
- Learn how to respond and provide care with specialized medical equipment.
- Learn how to respond and treat medical and trauma related emergencies.
- Duties will also include training, administrative and clerical functions, as well as station duties.
- Within established deadline, the EMS Provider Candidate will be required to become certified by DSHS.
- Conduct yourself in a courteous, helpful, and professional manner at all times when dealing with patients, co-workers, supervisors, and the public.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
The Candidate is preferred to have a college degree, but not required. High school diploma or GED required.The Candidate must pass a written entrance exam, physical agility, background, interview, physical, and drug test.Preferred Skills
Prefer Candidate to have computer skills, interpersonal skills, and a strong belief in customer centricity.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Extensive knowledge of a variety of computer software applications, especially Microsoft Office software.High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.Knowledge of office administration procedures.Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.Good to excellent spelling, grammar and written communication skills.Excellent telephone and oral communication skills.Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.Ability to operate most standard office equipment.Additional Notes
The EMS Provider Candidate may become eligible for appointment to a EMS Provider upon meeting all of the following :
Favorable recommendation by the EMS Training Captain.Satisfactory completing the approved training program.Possession of a valid Emergency Medical Technician certification by DSHS.Possession of a valid paramedic certification by DSHS (if applicable).PHYSICAL DEMANDS
