General Statement of Responsibilities
The dental hygiene faculty member provides didactic, laboratory and clinical instruction for dental hygiene students in on-campus clinical facilities, fieldwork sites, and distance learning environments.
Supervision Received
The dean is responsible for carrying out the evaluation of instructors under procedures developed by the vice president. The dean confers with the department director in decisions regarding instructor workload, professional growth, retention, and department staffing levels.

Education :
Only degrees received from an accredited institution will be accepted : accreditation must be recognized by the office of degree authorization, US Department of Education, as required by ORS 348.609. Final candidate will be required to provide official transcripts for required degree.
Licenses and Certificates :
Licensed or eligible for dental hygiene licensure in Oregon Anesthesia and Nitrous Permit required.
For assignments requiring operation of a motor vehicle, possession of a valid Oregon Driver's License and proof of an acceptable driving record are required. New employees establishing resident status in the State of Oregon must obtain an Oregon driver's license within 30 days (ORS 807.020 (1)). Current ASE Master Auto Technician certification in all eight automotive repair categories is required. Advanced level L1 ASE certification is desirable. Recent training certifications from multiple car manufactures are desirable.

Manual dexterity and coordination are required for less than half of the daily work period (about 40%) which is spent sitting while operating office equipment such as computers, keyboards, 10-key, telephones, and other standard office equipment. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach, bend, kneel, stoop, twist, crouch, climb, balance, see, talk, hear, and manipulate objects. The position requires some mobility including the ability to move materials less than 5 pounds daily, 5-25 pounds occasionally, and 25-60 pounds rarely. This position requires both verbal and written communication abilities.

Primary work setting is a dental hygiene education program located on the health professions center. Some work may be scheduled at off-campus fieldwork sites.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is primarily working indoors in an office environment. The employee is not exposed to hazardous conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and lighting is adequate.

This is an adjunct faculty pool for the Dental Hygiene program.
