Travel Nursing Job Details

Location : Spooner, Wisconsin 54801 (Northern Wisconsin)

Healthcare Setting : Acute Care – Medical Surgical Unit (18 beds)

Assignment Duration : 13-week travel contract (Start : 12 / 15 / 2025 – End : 3 / 16 / 2026)

Nursing Shift : 12-hour night shifts, rotating schedule

Hours per Week : 36 hours / week scheduled (hospital guarantees 24 hours / week; may call off 1 shift per week)

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1,880 - $2,020

Weekend Requirement : Every 3rd weekend (additional coverage may be requested)

Holiday Requirement : Every 3rd holiday

Orientation : 12-hour department-specific orientation (4 hours on the floor, 8 hours with education RN)

Charting System : EPIC EMR

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active RN license (Wisconsin or compact state) – required for travel nursing jobs

BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)

Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg RN experience

Strong teamwork and positive attitude

Ability to read cardiac monitors (telemetry)

Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of Spooner, WI

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with diagnoses including pneumonia, CHF, COPD, cellulitis, and post-surgical needs

Manage nurse-to-patient ratios of 1 : 4 (occasionally 1 : 5, rarely 1 : 6)

Titrate and initiate critical drips (Heparin, Cardizem, Levophed, Dopamine) prior to patient transfer

Collaborate with nurse aides and healthcare team for ADL care, blood sugar checks, vital signs, and EKGs

Float to the Emergency Department to assist as needed (no full assignments)

Utilize respiratory therapy equipment : CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen

Maintain professional appearance (any color professional scrubs permitted)
