Summary

School Psychologist Description Davis School District is now accepting applications for school Psychologists / Psychologist Interns for the 2024-2025 school year.Qualifications : Licensed School Psychologist or Intern GENERAL FUNCTIONS : Under the direction of the Related Services Coordinator, the School Psychologist employs a variety of assessment techniques to evaluate student learning, aptitude, and behavioral skills which determine eligibility for special education services. The school psychologist consults and collaborates with teachers, parents, students, and administrator. They assist families and schools dealing with crisis situations. RESPONSIBILITIES : 1. Demonstrates adherence to the professional Code of Ethics as outlined by the Utah Professional Practices Advisory Commission.2. Communicates, cooperates, and collaborates with other professional staff, in academic and personal growth areas.3. Administers, scores, and interprets standardized norm-referenced tests which are appropriate in determing eligibility for special education services according to federal and state guidelines.4. Uses a variety of individual and group assessment techniques to evaluate academic skills, learning aptitudes, social skills, and emotional development to determine eligibility for special education placement, services, and educational programming.5. Observes, records, analyzes, and summarizes the behavior of students referred for evaluation, in the regular classroom setting and other settings deemed appropriate.6. Collaborates with parents and other multidisciplinary team members in the development of the IEP for each qualifying student by using information obtained from the completed assessment battery.7. Evaluates student growth, keeping accurate records and preparing periodic progress reports to be shared with parents, other staff members, and appropriate medical personnel.8. Utilizes a system for ongoing maintenance of individual student progress data in compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.9. Assists families and schools dealing with crisis situations.
