Director Of Nursing

Dakota Regional Medical Center (DRMC) is seeking a skilled and motivated Registered Nurse (RN) to lead our hospital nursing team as our Director of Nursing (DON) across acute care, med-surg, swing bed, and emergency services. This is a key leadership role with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a tight-knit rural community. Were a Critical Access Hospital with a 9-bed inpatient hospital and an ER.

Duties :

• Supervise and support all nursing staff across departments
• Oversee scheduling, staffing, and ensure licensing compliance
• Cover shifts as needed to maintain seamless patient care
• Direct hiring, orientation, evaluations, and staff development
• Develop, update, and enforce nursing policies and procedures
• Manage care planning, discharge planning, and outpatient scheduling
• Participate in budgeting, strategic planning, and quality initiatives
• Ensure accurate medical recordkeeping and HIPAA compliance
• Provide pharmacy oversight in absence of the pharmacist
• Actively participate in hospital committees and the 340B program

Qualifications :

RN license with a minimum of 2 years of med-surg and ER experience (rural hospital preferred)

At least 6 months of experience in a charge nurse or supervisory role

Strong clinical skills in med-surg, emergency care, and cardiac monitoring

Confident leadership, decision-making, and team-building abilities

Skilled in writing policies, managing budgets, and interpreting data

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
