Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Ultrasound Technologist Discipline : Allied Health Professional Duration : 24 weeks 40 hours per week Shift : 8 hours Employment Type : Travel $50 The Ultrasound Technician performs a variety of specialized technical tasks utilizing high frequency ultrasound waves to assist with the detection of medical conditions or abnormalities by producing images of the inside of a patient’s body. Weekly pay 5X8s (rotating weekends and holidays) Night shifts 12am- 8 : 30am MUST have RDMS Cert 2 year experience Hospital experience Responsibilities : Perform a variety of complex specialized tasks utilizing ultrasonic high frequency sound waves to detect abnormalities including masses, abscesses, and stones. Assist physicians with biopsy procedures, guiding biopsy instrument using sonographic techniques. Utilize accessory equipment such as transducers, multi-format cameras, printers, and PACS workstations. Prepare patients for procedures, explain procedures to patients. Report changes in patient condition to medical staff. Provide an oral and written summary of preliminary findings to the radiologist. Evaluate quality of sonograms. Determine if additional sonograms or ultrasound procedures are indicated. Maintain patient records in division. Charge procedures and supplies in RIS. Archive and de-archive ultrasound data. Orient new Ultra-sonographers; provide education and training to new sonographers. Perform other related duties incidental to the work therein. Perform a variety of complex specialized tasks utilizing ultrasonic high frequency sound waves to detect abnormalities including masses, abscesses, and stones. Assist physicians with biopsy procedures, guiding biopsy instrument using sonographic techniques. Perform ultrasound procedures, doppler vascular examinations, abdominal studies and color-flow ultrasound, OB-GYN procedures as required. Utilize accessory equipment such as selective transducers, multi-format cameras, printers, and PACS workstations. Prepare patients for procedures, explain procedures to patients. Report changes in patient condition to medical staff. Provide an oral and written summary of preliminary findings to the radiologist. Evaluate quality of sonograms. Determine if additional sonograms or ultrasound procedures are indicated. Maintain patient records in division. Collaborate in quality control of equipment and filming and obtains service as required. Proficient in the performance of ultrasound procedures. Provide direction and instruction to existing personnel and training to new sonographers. Act in a team leader or leadership capacity on an as needed basis. Ensure correct charging of ultrasound procedures and supplies on a daily basis. Other Ultrasound Technicians / Sonographer duties as assigned Minimum Requirements : A certification from an accredited ultrasound school One year of experience as an ultrasound technician preferred.
