Clinical Duties
- Assists physician with biopsies and surgical procedures.
- Performs nursing procedures such as suture removal (specifically facelift), dressing changes, collecting specimens for lab testing, obtains patient's vitals, etc., without direct physician supervision.
- Straightens and cleans exam rooms after patient visits.
- Stocks all exam rooms with necessary supplies.
- Performs all duties related to medical instrument cleaning and sterilization.
- Notifies clinical staff of supplies needed to avoid shortages.
Administrative Duties
Answers patient phone calls, emails, and web inquiries within 24 hours to assist with questions, schedule appointments, and provide general information about treatments and services.Prepares new patient packets to include pre and post operative instructions and treatment descriptions.Educates patients as required after physician establishes the treatment plan. Ensures that the patient understands the treatment plan, understands the proper use of their medications, and understands their responsibility for compliance with the treatment plan prior to leaving the office.Follows up with patients after treatments to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns.Manages patient appointments ensuring that schedules are efficient, and patients are seen timely.Ensures all necessary paperwork is completed and that patient records are up to date.Communicates with patients through thank you letters and follow up phone calls. Also facilitates survey of patient's experiences.Completely and correctly fills out all required pathology and laboratory requisition documents for patients as required by physician.Education and Experience
__High School Diploma or GED , required.
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program , required.
Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical setting (plastic surgery, dermatology, or medical spa experience preferred).
Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems (NexTech, Epic, or similar).
Experience assisting with in-office procedures , patient prep, and post-procedure care.
Knowledge of HIPAA compliance , sterile technique, and infection-control standards.
Strong interpersonal skills; able to maintain professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
