Payroll Specialist - Temporary Position
Position Type : Temporary (12-month contract)
Schedule : Monday - Friday, 8 : 30 AM - 5 : 00 PM (on-site)
Compensation : $30-35 / hour
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team on a 12-month temporary assignment. This role will be responsible for processing payroll and supporting critical financial operations during peak periods.
Key Responsibilities
- Process bi-weekly / semi-monthly payroll accurately and in compliance with company policies and regulations
- Manage payroll operations using Paragon payroll system
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, taxes, and deductions
- Support month-end and year-end close activities
- Assist with budget-related payroll functions
- Maintain payroll records and ensure data integrity
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies
Required Qualifications
Proven experience processing payrollProficiency with Paragon payroll system (required)Strong attention to detail and accuracyAbility to meet strict deadlines and manage multiple prioritiesExcellent organizational and time management skillsProficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applicationsSchedule Requirements
Standard hours : 8 : 30 AM - 5 : 00 PM, Monday through Friday (on-site)Additional hours required during :Month-end close periods
Year-end close (January)Budget season (September 15 - November 1)PTO Blackout Periods : No time off available during January (year-end close) and September 15 - November 1 (budget preparation)Preferred Qualifications
Experience with high-volume payroll processingKnowledge of federal and state payroll regulationsPrevious experience in similar temporary / contract roles
