Job description

Location :

  • Colorado Springs, CO – Schriever Space Force Base Clearance Required : Active DoD Secret Travel : Up to 10% LaunchTech is seeking a Model Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).
  • This role focuses on driving adoption of MBSE principles across the organization and integrating system design into a cohesive digital environment.
  • You will collaborate across engineering disciplines to build, refine, and sustain enterprise-level architectures that ensure mission readiness.

What You’ll Do As a Model Based Systems Engineer, you will :

  • Drive culture and adoption of MBSE throughout the organization by promoting the use of MBSE and providing training and support to the team Develop standard work and business operating procedures related to MBSE and system architecture deployment Create formal processes for applying MBSE within the program Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive and integrated system design and digital environments Integrate Model Based Systems Engineering principles and requirements into digital environments across the enterprise Develop and manage system architectures, interfaces, and requirements using MBSE tools, creating models with SysML or similar languages to represent structure, behavior, and functional / non-functional requirements Communicate complex engineering information to team members of various backgrounds and disciplines Help establish and maintain the Technical Baseline for a Command and Control (C2) and Research, Development, and Test (RDT) Operations Center What You Bring Basic Requirements : Must have 5, or more, years of systems engineering experience Must have strong knowledge of systems engineering frameworks (e.g.
  • DoDAF, UAF, TOGAF) Must have strong knowledge of modeling languages (e.g.

    • SySML, UML) Must have experience using model-based SE tools (DOORs, Cameo, Rhapsody, etc.) Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance Desired Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or any STEM related field Compensation : This position is expected to pay $130,000 – $145,000 annually, depending on experience, education, and certifications directly related to the role.
