Job description

HANC Middle School, a private school on Long Island, is seeking a motivated and dedicated science teacher to begin immediately or for the upcoming 2025–2026 school year.

Position Details :

  • Schedule :  Monday–Thursday from 11 : 30 AM to 4 : 45 PM, and Friday from 11 : 15 AM to 1 : 15 PM
  • Courses :  5 total periods :
  • 2 periods of 8th grade Physical Science
  • 1 period of 7th Grade Life Science
  • 2 periods of 6th grade Earth Science

Responsibilities :

  • Prepare and teach engaging, hands-on science lessons aligned with curriculum standards
  • Foster a classroom environment that promotes curiosity, collaboration, and student expression
  • Communicate regularly with parents and school counselors regarding student progress
  • Evaluate students' academic growth and development
  • Participate in school activities and events involving students and families

    • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science Education or a related field or Science Certification
  • A passion for science and for working with middle school students
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Flexibility, creativity, and a collaborative spirit

    • This position may be structured as full-time.  Salary is compensatory with experience.
