Job Title : Travel Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – Operating Room (OR), 6 : 30 AM–3 : 00 PM, NAMC Florence, AL
North Alabama Medical Center (NAMC) in Florence, Alabama is seeking a qualified Travel Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join its Operating Room team. This is a full-time travel assignment offering a dynamic clinical environment in a regional medical center known for advanced surgical care and a collaborative team culture.
Position Summary
The CST will assist in surgical operations under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses, and other surgical personnel. Responsibilities include preparing operating rooms, arranging equipment, and assisting during surgeries. The ideal candidate will have experience in a variety of surgical procedures and demonstrate strong attention to detail, adaptability, and commitment to patient safety.
Schedule
Shift : 6 : 30 AM – 3 : 00 PMDays : Monday through Friday (with potential for weekend or on-call shifts depending on department needs)Key Responsibilities
Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by setting up sterile instruments and equipmentEnsure all surgical supplies are available and properly sterilizedAssist surgeons and nurses during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fieldsMonitor patient condition and surgical environment to ensure safety and compliance with protocolsHandle specimens for laboratory analysis as directedMaintain accurate documentation of procedures and supply usageParticipate in post-operative clean-up and equipment sterilizationQualifications
Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTSAMinimum of 1 year recent experience in an acute care OR settingBLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and surgical proceduresAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentPreferred Skills
Experience with orthopedic, cardiovascular, and general surgery casesFamiliarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systemsExcellent communication and organizational skills
