Quality Engineer II

Summary

This position supports the production and quality teams to ensure products are made to customer specifications and our teams adhere to standard company practices during the production process. This position also supports the research and implementation of systemic improvement ideas (including automation / semi-automation) to improve production / quality effectiveness. Interface directly with customer quality teams on a regular basis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Interpret customer and engineering specifications to provide guidance to production teams.
• Conduct and document First Article reviews, including communications with customers.
• Work with customer source inspectors to present proper documentation and product.
• Alert and explain non-conformances to production teams.
• Conduct containment activities for non-conforming products.
• Assist quality engineering in determining root causes for non-conforming products.
• Work with production, engineering, and quality teams to identify and implement process improvements.
• Work as a project manager / lead on continuous improvement projects.
• Look for and do research on new and better methods that can provide more effective and efficient methods for data collection and quality control. This can include automation and online (internet) systems that speed up and improve the collection of critical data / information.
• Work with production, manufacturing engineering, and quality teams to look for opportunities to develop and implement automated processes.
• Conduct process and product audits to support proper execution of customer requirements and adherence to company practices.
• Assist document control department to maintain document revision levels and release of new and revised company procedures, training forms and other documents.
• Maintain records efficiently and accurately.
• Other duties may be assigned.
