Responsibilities Work in an acute care hospital on a Medical Surgical unit Assignment includes both general Med / Surg and Observation / ER Overflow unit with a 10-bed capacity Patient ratios are 1 : 6 at night and 1 : 5 during the day, with occasional increase to 8 patients supported by an LPN Constant reassessment for patient discharge readiness due to rapid admission and discharge cycles Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19 : 00 to 07 : 30 Must float to other Med / Surg units as needed, typically about once per week Weekend requirement : Every other weekend Main responsibilities include providing care to a diverse Med / Surg patient population and managing rapid discharge cycles Staffing model includes team support from LPNs and Techs, especially when patient ratios increase No block scheduling is available at this time Holiday time-off requests may be discussed with the manager but are not guaranteed Requirements Active Michigan RN license required Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg RN experience Prior travel nursing experience required Must be comfortable working collaboratively with RNs, LPNs, and Techs Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-626256.
