Role Overview
Kforce is seeking an experienced Backend Engineer with hands-on FedRAMP compliance experience for a remote federal project.
This role involves designing, building, and maintaining secure backend systems on Microsoft Azure , with a focus on meeting FedRAMP standards and documentation requirements .
The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in C#, Java, Python, Node.js , and .NET Framework , along with experience implementing and validating security controls in cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain backend services using C#, Java, Python, Node.js , and .NET Framework .Design and implement backend controls and configurations to ensure FedRAMP compliance .Work with Azure Government and Azure compliance documentation to support audit processes.Configure and secure Azure services such as App Service, Functions, SQL Database, Cosmos DB, and Blob Storage.Contribute to and maintain FedRAMP documentation and evidence for audits and assessments.Implement security best practices - logging, monitoring, encryption at rest, secure configuration management .Collaborate with DevOps teams to manage CI / CD pipelines via Azure DevOps .Integrate data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and manage containers via Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) .Conduct code quality and security reviews using tools such as SonarQube , Veracode , and Splunk SIEM .Required Skills & Experience
Proven experience as a Backend Engineer with focus on cloud and security compliance .Strong proficiency in C#, Java, Python, Node.js , and .NET Framework .Deep understanding of Azure's FedRAMP offerings , including Azure Government environments.Hands-on experience implementing FedRAMP-required security controls and preparing documentation.Experience with Azure DevOps, Pipelines, Repositories, App Services, Functions, and Data Factory .Familiarity with Auth0, SAP Identity Management, BitLocker, SIEM (Splunk) , and container orchestration (AKS) .Excellent documentation, collaboration, and communication skills.
