Salary : $125,698.00 - $142,324.00 per year

Responsibilities

Ascension Illinois is looking for an Advanced Practice Clinician, Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for our Neurosurgery Department.

This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension Illinois to provide medical services to patients.

Position Highlights :

APP will manage general neurosurgery and consultative neurosurgery patients and care for Adult and pediatric patients with neurological conditions in an outpatient setting with cross coverage to the inpatient environment in support of the Neurosurgery APP program.

The responsibility split is estimated at 90% ambulatory and 10% inpatient.

Team supports Neurosurgery inpatient and outpatient service at two acute care hospitals for Neurosurgeons, adults and pediatrics

Limited hospital call responsibilities are required

The APP will work collaboratively with neurosurgeons and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care and support the neurosurgery program.

Programs include but not limited to, Early Access Clinics, Pre & Post Operative visits, Pre-surgical education working directly with Neurosurgeons as well as Independent clinics.

Additionally, there is cross-collaboration with Pain Medicine and Neurointerventional services with opportunities to maximize patient throughout

Team Camaraderie : Experience a close-knit, supportive neurosurgery team working together.

Responsibilities :

Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills.

Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.

Accepts patient referrals from other physicians. Acts as admitting, attending and / or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.

Participates in academic programs (e.g. medical education and research) as requested.

Provides appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.

Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration :

BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Credentials are verified by local staff credentialing office.

Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Credentials are verified by local staff credentialing office.

Drug Enforcement Admin credentialed from the Drug Enforcement Administration preferred.

Education :

Master's degree of Nursing required.
