Sr. Accounting Associate I

We are currently seeking a Senior Accounting Associate I to join our client accounting team located in Atlanta, GA. This role offers a remote opportunity to work from home. OVERVIEW:

This role will be responsible for coordinating, facilitating and executing accounting and financial transactional processes, monitoring performance, reconciling and reporting financial and operational results, and improving financial systems and processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Responsible for cash management of assigned properties.
• Prepare timely and accurate reporting by established deadlines.
• Perform month-end and quarter-end close processes (i.e. general ledger review, cash management), ensuring all invoices, accruals, and accounting entries are complete and timely.
• Assist in producing timely and accurate monthly financial statements including comprehensive variance analysis.
• Ensure that all bank statements are reconciled timely on a monthly basis including follow-up on all outstanding checks.
• Ensure that balance sheet reconciliations are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
• Prepare additional schedules, which are required to support account balances.
• Submit financial statements and work papers in reviewable form (including documentation) and within the proper time frame for review.
• Communicate and present monthly reviews of reconciliations and financial statement status.
• Assist in maintaining an accurate pipeline (work in process) by obtaining transaction details and accurately updating or inputting specific information.
• Provide finance operations support to multiple business segments.
• Compile and analyze financial information for management reports.
• Completion of special projects including audits and other functions as required by manager.
• Continually enhance, improve and streamline the transactional management process.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; MBA and/or CPA, a plus.
• Qualified candidates will possess 3 years of accounting experience.
• Enterprise Financial System experience a must – JDE, PeopleSoft and Hyperion experience, strongly desired.
• Real Estate experience, a plus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Strong attention to detail but can also see the “big picture”.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently and excel in a fast paced, customer service-oriented environment.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and proficiency in other Microsoft Office packages.
• Strong verbal and written communication and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
• Demonstrated consistency in values, principles and work ethic.
• Ability to work successfully under pressure and effectively prioritize and manage time and workload.
• Willingness to take on new challenges, responsibilities, and assignments.
• A desire to work within a diverse, collaborative, and driven professional environment.

Estimated total compensation for this position:

77,000.00 – 86,000.00 USD per year

The total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
