Responsibilities :
- Assure production material is tested in a timely manner.
- Ensure the correct product specification is used and documented.
- Analyze all test reports, noting unusual variations or high ranges in test data, and follow up appropriately.
- Test critical properties (weight, thickness, & color) within 20 minutes of receiving the sample.
- Complete and properly store the new order checklist and hourly sample review checklist.
- Maintain daily housekeeping, including the tufting room, per shift.
- Prepare the quality presentation for the daily 7 : 45 AM quality meeting.
- Perform sampling and testing of Spunbond Fabrics, including :
- Cutting samples for testing.
- Preparing tufted samples by sewing fabric pieces for tufting and the tufted fabric for the sample.
- Re-testing any out-of-control or out-of-spec test results.
- Conducting rack, grab, and tongue tests on tufted fabric.
- Sampling lubricants every shift.
- Testing special requests as needed.
Update online weight, thickness, and color calibrations for all three lines for each test sample.
Notify the Line Supervisor of any out-of-control or out-of-spec test results.
Inspect rolls for correct packaging and labeling.
Assist with line startups and shutdowns if needed.
Release rolls in QPDC with good test results.
Prepare and present findings at the morning quality meeting.
Train backup personnel to cover absences.
Qualifications :
High School diploma.Ability to work a rotating seven-day schedule (12-hour shifts).Ability to lift 50 lbs. waist high regularly.Ability to climb up to 30 feet regularly.Ability to read and understand manuals and digital documents.Basic math skills, including calculations with whole numbers, decimals, and fractions.Mechanical aptitude is highly desired.Basic computer skills for data entry and retrieval.Strong verbal communication skills.Logical thinking and reasoning skills.Prior manufacturing experience is a plus.Ability to work effectively as part of a team, operating complex machinery safely.Preferred candidates have 1-2 years of QCC experience.The Freudenberg Group is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
