Cost Accountant Opportunity
Dawoud Kazimee with Robert Half is looking for a dedicated Cost Accountant to join our team in Newberg, Oregon. This role focuses on managing and analyzing product costs, supporting financial decision-making, and contributing to budgeting and forecasting processes. Responsibilities :
- Maintain and evaluate standard costs for products and components, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
- Monitor manufacturing variances and inventory valuation, providing regular reports to stakeholders.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes related to cost accounting.
- Conduct detailed financial analyses to guide strategic business decisions.
- Analyze trends, costs, revenues, and financial commitments to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Assist in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Perform budget-to-actual variance analyses and present findings to relevant teams.
- Collaborate with department leaders to align financial strategies and objectives.
- Utilize tools such as Microsoft Query, Excel, and Power BI to extract, analyze, and visualize financial data effectively.
Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, economics, or a related field.A minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook; experience with Power BI and / or Microsoft Query is preferred.Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is required.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, paired with excellent communication skills.Expertise in standard cost accounting and cost analysis methodologies.Ability to create dashboards and automated reports for real-time decision-making.Demonstrated experience in financial reporting and variance analysis.
