Position Overview
The Structural Design Engineer will collaborate in a multidisciplinary aerospace environment to develop and refine flight vehicle structures. This role focuses on designing and integrating structural components with considerations for performance, manufacturability, cost efficiency, quality, and regulatory compliance. Work is centered on commercial aircraft structures, particularly 787 fuselage, wing, and pylon components.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply engineering and physical science principles to design and evaluate aircraft structural components.
- Develop and document structural designs ensuring performance, functional adequacy, and manufacturing feasibility.
- Integrate structural elements into larger vehicle systems in collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams.
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications and industry standards.
- Support reviews, configuration changes, and design validation activities.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline (required).2–4 years of professional experience in structural design engineering.Proficiency in CATIA and familiarity with design standards and processesExperience with ENOVIA PLM tools.Recent (last 10 years) experience on commercial aircraft structures , preferably fuselage or primary structures.Strong understanding of metallic structural design principles.Preferred Qualifications
Experience specifically with 787 structural programs.Background in new product development and aerospace system integration.Commercial OEM or tier-one aerospace supplier experience (Boeing, Airbus, Spirit, etc.).
