Position Title : Middle School Science Teacher (W2)

Employment Type : Full-Time

Compensation : Annual Salary : $63,500 – $72,000 + Benefits

Reports To : High School Principal & Vice Principal

Location : Plainfield, NJ

Position Overview

The Middle School Science Teacher will design and deliver engaging, hands-on science lessons that inspire curiosity, foster critical thinking, and build problem-solving skills. The teacher will be responsible for maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment while supporting the school’s mission and academic goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement NGSS-aligned science lessons consistent with the school’s curriculum and philosophy.
• Create and supervise safe and engaging laboratory experiments , ensuring all lab safety protocols are followed.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with IEPs, English language learners, and advanced students.
• Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Integrate technology and real-world applications to make science learning relevant and interactive.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and participation .
• Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and parents to ensure alignment between academic goals and student outcomes.
• Participate in school-wide planning, professional learning communities (PLCs), and decision-making processes .
• Support the school’s mission : “We Are a Community of Builders” , through curriculum design, educational excursions, and student-centered activities.
• Mentor peers when appropriate and maintain consistent communication with administrators, families, and staff.
• Adhere to all New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) teaching standards .
