Title : School Occupational Therapist (OT)

\nLocation : Santa Barbara , CA 93160

\nPay Rate :  Up to $80 / hour

\nAs a K-6  school-based Occupational Therapist in Santa Barbara , CA , your days will include\n

\n\t

  • Conduct assessments to identify students’ fine motor, sensory, self-care, and adaptive skill needs.

\n\t

  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans (IEPs / 504s) tailored to each student’s specific goals and educational needs.

    • \n\t

  • Provide direct occupational therapy services to students individually or in small groups.

    • \n\t

  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to recommend accommodations and strategies that support student participation and success.

    • \n\t

  • Maintain detailed and timely documentation of assessments, therapy sessions, progress notes, and service logs.

    • \n\t

  • Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings, IEP meetings, and parent conferences.

    • \n\t

  • Educate school personnel on the importance of sensory and motor development in the learning environment.

    • \n\t

  • Stay updated on best practices and regulatory changes affecting occupational therapy services in educational settings.

    • \n\t

  • Ensure compliance with district policies, state regulations, and federal laws such as IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act).

  • Position : Contract (option to renew) in a school setting

    • \n\t

  • Hours : Part-time 3 days

    • \n\t

  • Caseload : Elementary

    • \n \n

    \nSuccessful Candidates Possess\n \n\t

  • Masters and / or Doctorate Degree in Occupational Therapy (required)

    • \n\t

  • An active or pending state licensure, or the ability to obtain (required)

    • \n\t

  • Experience in a pediatric or school setting (preferred)

    • \n\t

  • The ability to work in the U.S. without a sponsor
