As a key member of the Optum Behavioral Care team, you will help realize our vision of better healthcare for everyone.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage initial inpatient admission requests for psychiatric and chemical dependency patients.
  • Conduct patient assessments and determine the appropriate levels of care.
  • Review treatment plans and coordinate transitions between various areas of care.
  • Gather information from providers on outpatient treatment requests.
  • Perform utilization management concurrent reviews of patients during their admission process until discharge.

Required Qualifications :

  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy; OR a Ph.D. with licensure.
  • Active, unrestricted independent clinical license in California : LP, LCSW, LMFT, LPC.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in behavioral health.
  • A dedicated office space and access to high-speed internet service at home.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience in inpatient settings.
  • Knowledge of dual diagnosis involving both mental health and substance abuse.
  • Experience coordinating benefits and utilizing multiple resources for patient care.
  • Familiarity with a queue-based work environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Internet).
  • Compensation for this position ranges from $58,800 to $105,000 annually for full-time employment, based on various factors such as education, experience, and location.
