Job description

This position is responsible for the implementation, administration, support, and maintenance of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), industrial communication systems, and network infrastructure within our water and wastewater operations.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in process automation, network and server administration, and control systems, with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize complex systems in a utility environment.

  • Program, maintain, and troubleshoot PLC systems.
  • Configure and calibrate instrumentation and control devices.
  • Develop, support, and maintain hardware and software for SCADA systems, network infrastructure (WAN / LAN), and server environments.
  • Support and troubleshoot industrial communications and electronic relay-logic control panels.
  • Administer and maintain security systems related to SCADA and control environments.
  • Create and maintain accurate documentation, reports, logs, and daily activity summaries.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, plans, and specifications for project implementation.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Four (4) years of experience in automation and controls.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Working knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards related to automation and control systems.
  • Advanced technical certifications or college coursework in automation, control systems, or electrical engineering is preferred.
  • Experience in SCADA programming, instrumentation, and system integration.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and industrial process control.
  • Familiarity with IT / OT security practices, network configurations, and server administration.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven customer service skills and ability to work both independently and within a team.
