Full-Time Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT)

Location : Walnut Creek, CA

Pay Rate : $75.00 – $85.00 / hour

Employment Type : Full-Time

Setting : Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinic

Position Overview :

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) to join a progressive outpatient behavioral health clinic in Walnut Creek, CA . The ideal candidate will be highly organized, compassionate, and skilled in performing brain SPECT imaging procedures in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

This is a patient-facing role that combines technical precision with empathy and excellent communication. You will play a critical part in supporting comprehensive mental wellness strategies through safe and effective nuclear imaging.

Key Responsibilities :

Perform brain SPECT scans and related quality assurance checks

Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals and IVs

Process and archive scan images daily

Maintain Odyssey system and accurate patient records / logbooks

Conduct hot lab operations and safety monitoring (surveys, wipe tests, etc.)

Order isotopes and manage inventory

Perform calibrator tests : daily, quarterly, and annual quality controls

Maintain compliance with state and federal nuclear regulations

Qualifications & Skills :

✅ Current Nuclear Medicine Technologist license – California

✅ Strong knowledge of SPECT imaging protocols (brain imaging preferred)

✅ Familiarity with Picker Prism 3000 system is a plus

✅ Proven ability to manage high patient volumes efficiently

✅ Skilled in communicating complex procedures to non-technical patients

✅ Emotionally stable and empathetic when working with both adults and children

✅ Excellent documentation and time management skills

Work Environment :

Climate-controlled outpatient clinic

Moderate noise levels

Regular use of computers, scanners, and medical devices

Occasional lifting (up to 15 lbs)

Sitting, typing, and machine operation for extended periods
