Senior Manager of Revenue

About the Opportunity
A nationally recognized, fast-paced organization within the sports & entertainment industry is seeking a Senior Manager of Revenue to lead contract review, revenue recognition, and technical accounting for multiple complex revenue streams. This high-visibility role partners closely with Accounting Leadership, Legal, Sales, and Operations while overseeing a team responsible for the accuracy and integrity of revenue reporting.
The ideal candidate is a strong technical accountant with ASC 606 experience, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to interpret, document, and communicate revenue implications across the organization.
Your Impact as Senior Manager of Revenue
In this senior leadership role, you will :
Review, analyze, and interpret contracts to determine revenue treatment under ASC 606
Prepare and review technical accounting memos supporting revenue conclusions
Lead the monthly revenue close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis
Oversee preparation of revenue-related financial statements and reporting packages
Support annual external audits by preparing schedules, analysis, and documentation
Maintain and update revenue accounting policies, process documentation, and internal controls
Ensure accurate data flow between systems interfacing with Workday; oversee mapping and translation tables
Lead initiatives to streamline and enhance revenue processes and operational efficiencies
Partner cross-functionally with Tax, Legal, Sales, and other business units on revenue-related matters
Provide financial insights to leadership for strategic and operational decision making
Supervise, mentor, and evaluate revenue staff members

Qualifications
Required :
Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of relevant accounting experience
Strong technical understanding of ASC 606 and contracted revenue
Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, modeling)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Supervisory or team leadership experience
Preferred :
Public accounting experience (Big 4 or regional)
CPA certified or CPA-eligible
Workday Financials experience
Experience working with large, multi-stream revenue environments
