Position purpose
The Pathology Manager is responsible for all planning, organizing, coordinating and overseeing the overall operation of pathology laboratory activities including biological, chemical, environmental, quality control and quality assessment.

Manage the daily laboratory operationsOversee with scheduling, recruitment, and payrollManage staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction and conflict managementDevelop departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of GI Pathology LaboratoryProvide technical expertise and back up for all duties performed in the pathology laboratoryDevelop, evaluate, implement and monitor policies, procedures, and standardsDevelop, implement, and monitor laboratory safety, quality assessment, and improvement programsMaintain good relationships with physicians, colleagues, and vendors to ensure customer satisfaction and resolve operational issuesDevelop and monitor budgetsOther duties as assignedQualifications
Education :
AA in Science or equivalentHT or HTL (ASCP)Education and training are sufficient to support CLIA 88 requirements for the position held. This is to be reflective of the scope of practice in regular scheduled responsibilities and pay grade meeting all HCFA-CLIA 88 "testing personnel" criteria.Experience : Three (3) year experience in laboratory setting.

This role routinely involves standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Laboratory equipment is used occasionally.
Work Environment
This job operates in professional laboratory environments. Frequent exposure to toxic / caustic chemicals, moving / mechanical parts, sharp objects, blood or body fluids, communicable diseases, LED computer monitors, repetitive motions. Travel may be required.
