Confectioner / Dessert Specialist
Emish Market, located in Fife, WA, is a Ukrainian grocery store offering a wide selection of imported goods from Ukraine and other European countries. Alongside our full-service café, bakery, and meat department, we are expanding our bakery team to enhance our dessert selection with freshly made cakes, pastries, and traditional Ukrainian sweets.
We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Confectioner / Dessert Specialist to join our bakery team. The ideal candidate has a passion for pastry and dessert-making, a good eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining consistent quality and presentation in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Experience with European-style desserts is highly preferred, as this is our area of specialty.
Work Schedule : Thursday - Saturday, 3 : 30 PM - 12 : 30 AM
Pay Range : $18-$24 / hour, depending on experience.

Job Responsibilities :
Assist in preparing, baking, and decorating cakes, pastries, cookies, and other dessertsFollow recipes and production schedules to ensure consistency and qualityMeasure, mix, and prepare doughs, creams, fillings, and glazesMaintain cleanliness and organization of baking tools, equipment, and work areaPackage baked goods for display and to-go sales, ensuring freshness and visual appealMonitor inventory levels of ingredients and notify management when restocking is neededSupport senior bakers and collaborate with the kitchen team to meet daily production goalsFollow all food safety and sanitation standardsRequired Qualifications :
Minimum 1 year of experience in a bakery, pastry shop, or commercial kitchenExperience working with European desserts is highly preferredBasic knowledge of baking techniques, dough preparation, and dessert assemblyStrong attention to detail and creativity in dessert presentationAbility to work efficiently under time pressure while maintaining qualityDependable, punctual, and a strong team playerCommitment to cleanliness and adherence to health and safety guidelinesPassion for learning and growing within a professional bakery environment
