Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Participate in coordination and transportation of youth including driving youth to medical appointments, court appointments, etc.
  • Monitor with Nursing services the administration and documentation of medication (in the appropriate settings)
  • Facilitate ongoing group evaluations throughout the day for planned groups, activities and responsibilities
  • Assist in resolving conflicts with youth using problem solving techniques and role playing giving youth immediate feedback on appropriate and inappropriate behavior to be implemented on an as needed basis.
  • Provide a positive role model to youth by participating with residents to exemplify a healthy and wholesome approach to life, to develop a sense of community and to maintain a clean and pleasant environment.
  • Assist youth with the positive development and implementation of individual goals and objectives.
  • Provide instruction to youth regarding desirable health and personal habits
  • Responsible for continuously being up to date on and adhering to the treatment model, RE-ED philosophy and Trauma Informed Care Principles.
  • Remain in compliance with all required trainings including but not limited to CPI and CPR certifications and refreshers.
  • Plan and lead recreational activities and participates or instructs youths in games.
  • Provide safety and care to the youth in forms of active supervision, redirecting youth, conducting weekly drills, holding youth accountable to meet daily goals, completing hygiene and chores.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe program environment through ongoing CPI training, appropriate responses, proper physical restraints techniques.
  • Work harmoniously and positively with other staff and youth to develop and implement group goals and content.
