Pro Talent Group, a division of MS-IL Staffing & Packaging, and its local client are NOW HIRING a full-time Maintenance Manager near the Indianapolis, Indiana, area!

Salary Range : $110k+ / year

Shift : 1st shift

A well-established food manufacturing company is seeking a skilled Maintenance Manager to lead and develop a team of maintenance professionals responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of production equipment and facilities. This position is ideal for a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge and a focus on continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safety and compliance : Ensure full compliance with OSHA, company, and food safety standards, including Lockout / Tagout (LOTO), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and SQF Program requirements.
  • Maintenance strategy : Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance plan to ensure equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and optimize plant performance.
  • Team leadership : Hire, train, coach, and evaluate maintenance technicians to promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Preventive & corrective maintenance : Oversee and prioritize maintenance activities to achieve maximum uptime across all manufacturing equipment.
  • Process improvement : Identify opportunities for operational enhancements, cost savings, and efficiency improvements within the maintenance department.
  • Recordkeeping : Maintain detailed documentation of maintenance work, including work orders, equipment histories, and preventive maintenance schedules using CMMS software.
  • Emergency response : Develop and execute contingency plans to address unexpected equipment failures and minimize production disruptions.
  • Reporting : Provide regular updates to senior leadership on key performance indicators (KPIs), maintenance metrics, and departmental performance.
  • Additional duties : Perform other related tasks as assigned to support plant operations and company objectives.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Management, or a related technical field (preferred).
  • Proven experience managing maintenance teams within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of industrial equipment, electrical and mechanical systems, and automation.
  • Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Thorough understanding of OSHA and food safety compliance standards.
  • Physical Demands :

  • Must be able to physically perform the functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
  • Must be able to work seated using a computer and phone for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work extended hours, such as daily overtime and an occasional weekend.
  • Must possess visual acuity to document company records.
  • Continuous walking throughout the plant.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
