Position Overview
The State of Ohio is seeking an experienced Salesforce Senior Administrator / Developer to support and enhance the agency’s Salesforce environment. This role includes troubleshooting critical issues, establishing development standards, ensuring platform stability, and mentoring junior team members. The ideal candidate will bring strong Salesforce expertise, leadership, and hands-on development experience.
Responsibilities
Act as the Salesforce SME, providing advanced troubleshooting for complex issues.
Review existing Salesforce application to identify root causes and recommend solutions.
Define and document development / deployment standards (code reviews, naming conventions, security best practices).
Develop solutions using Apex, Visualforce, LWC, and related Salesforce technologies.
Maintain detailed documentation for development and administrative processes.
Mentor junior Salesforce developer and enforce established standards.
Collaborate with business teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
Stay current with Salesforce releases and best practices.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
5+ years hands-on Salesforce Admin / Developer experience.
Active Salesforce certifications (Admin, Platform Developer I / II, Application Architect).
Strong problem-solving skills in production environments.
Expertise with Apex, Visualforce, LWC.
Strong Salesforce admin knowledge (security, data, user management).
Understanding of SDLC and Agile.
Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
Preferred
Experience with Salesforce DevOps tools (DX, Copado, Gearset).
Experience working in small IT teams.
Application Architect or System Architect certification.
