Key Responsibilities :
Patient and Applicant Support :
Serve as the main point of contact for incoming inquiries via phone, addressing questions regarding program eligibility and providing appropriate resources.
Initiate and manage follow-up communications with applicants to secure required documentation for application completion.
Provide guidance to patients and providers on using secure web portals to access information.
Adhere to all HIPAA guidelines to verify caller identity and protect patient health information.
Data Management & Processing :
Ensure accurate and complete data entry into patient databases.
Review patient documentation to determine eligibility for financial assistance.
Correct errors and re-process paperwork as necessary to maintain efficiency.
Ensure all patient interactions and actions are thoroughly documented for service continuity.
Operational Support :
Assist with a variety of program-specific tasks, including product ordering and resolving pharmacy and PBM issues.
Validate patient information and correspond with medical providers to obtain necessary statements for processing applications.
Prioritize and process documentation in the order it is received to meet performance metrics.
Qualifications :
Exceptional Customer Service : You'll need excellent listening, speaking, and interpersonal skills to compassionately and accurately address patient needs. Empathy for individuals with chronic illnesses is a must.
Strong Organizational Skills : The ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize your workload, and adapt to changing deadlines is crucial for success in this fast-paced environment.
Attention to Detail : You must be able to perform accurate data entry and mathematical computations to determine program eligibility and financial assistance levels.
Technical Proficiency : A solid understanding of health insurance, including Medicare, is highly recommended. You should be proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with the ability to quickly learn proprietary patient databases.
Adaptability : Programs, procedures, and insurance benefits change frequently. You must be able to adapt to new information and work collaboratively with your team to ensure the highest level of patient care.
