We are seeking a talented, self-motivated Project Architect or Job Captain based in Colorado to lead projects in our growing portfolio. THE ROLE
The Project Architect will serve as the technical and design lead for educational projects, responsible for coordinating the entire project lifecycle from schematic design through construction administration. You will work closely with firm leadership to deliver innovative, sustainable, and code-compliant solutions that inspire students and educators.
As a regional representative of the firm, you will also play a key role in maintaining client relationships and coordinating with local consultants in the Rocky Mountain area.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Project Leadership : Lead the design direction and technical development of K-12 and higher education projects, ensuring alignment with client goals, budget, and schedule.
- Documentation & BIM : Oversee and produce high-quality construction documents; supervise BIM modeling (Revit) and ensure accuracy in detailing and code compliance.
- Coordination : Manage coordination between internal design teams and external consultants (structural, MEP, civil) to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Regulatory Approval : Navigate the specific building codes and entitlement processes of Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region (experience with DSA / CDE or similar agencies is a plus).
- Sustainability : Champion sustainable design strategies (LEED, CHPS, WELL) to create healthy, energy-efficient learning environments.
- Construction Administration : Conduct site visits, respond to RFIs, review submittals, and solve field problems to ensure design intent is maintained during construction.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education : Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.Licensure : Licensed Architect in the State of Colorado (or NCARB certified with the ability to obtain reciprocity quickly) is highly preferred.Experience : 7–10+ years of professional experience, with a strong portfolio of educational (K-12 / Higher Ed) or public work.Technical Skills : High proficiency in Revit is essential (firm is fully transitioning to BIM workflows). Proficiency in Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite is expected.Communication : Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to present complex design concepts to school boards, stakeholders, and community groups.Attributes : Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a remote / hybrid setup while maintaining strong connection to the headquarters team.WHY JOIN US?
