At Meta Reality Labs Research, our goal is to explore, innovate and design novel interfaces and hardware subsystems for the next generation of virtual, augmented, and mixed reality experiences. We are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Manager (R&D) with experience developing and shipping consumer electronics, and / or wearables that include new technologies. This Leader will have a history of being a collaborative part of a hardware management team while driving programs that require engineering rigor to satisfy a broad set of partner teams. More broadly, you will work with a highly interdisciplinary team of researchers with a broad range of experiences, perspectives, approaches, and backgrounds, and will have access to cutting edge technology, resources, and testing facilities.

Mechanical Engineering Manager (R&D) Responsibilities

• Manage a team of 5~8 Mechanical Engineers via team guidance, regular feedback, education, coaching, mentoring, creating career development plans, performance reviews
• Identify key roles required for team success and recruit top talent into Meta
• Provide technical leadership to the program via direct contribution and review of team's work
• Drive clarity and refinement of development processes used by the team to execute
• Perform architecture, design, feasibility reviews to ensure programs have a tolerable amount of risk

$170,000 / year to $240,000 / year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
