Position Summary

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician will support process improvement and optimization efforts across the shop floor. This hands-on role is focused on observing production processes, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing practical improvements to enhance productivity, quality, and safety.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver with solid manufacturing experience and strong mechanical aptitude. Experience with design and CAD tools is preferred to allow the technician to create and implement their own process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Observe manufacturing processes on the shop floor to identify opportunities for improvement in safety, efficiency, quality, and cost.
• Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and production staff to implement process improvements.
• Design and fabricate fixtures, tools, and jigs to support production and assembly operations.
• Support the installation and validation of new equipment or process changes.
• Document process improvements and maintain updated standard work instructions.
• Provide hands-on troubleshooting for manufacturing issues and assist with root cause analysis.
• Utilize CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) to model or modify components and tooling.
• Support lean manufacturing initiatives, 5S, and continuous improvement projects.
• Collect and analyze production data to measure process performance and improvement outcomes.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
