Job description

Project Estimator with experience in structural steel, sheet metal, and custom fabrication needed for steel fabrication shop.

Requirements and qualifications :

  • Minimum 5 - 10 years in some form of project estimation.
  • Minimum 5 years working with structural steel.
  • Must be able to do take offs and cut sheets on Autocad.
  • Must be able to do detailing work.

Duties and responsibilities would include but not be limited to the following :

  • Identify factors affecting costs, such as production time, materials, and labor.
  • Read blueprints and technical documents in order to prepare estimates.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager, Field Foreman, Shop Foreman, clients, and contractors.
  • Calculate, analyze and adjust estimates.
  • Recommend ways to reduce costs.
