Job description

Empower Lives Through Communication in Beautiful Georgia - Become Our Next Speech Language Pathologist

Overview

Imagine a career where your aptitude for compassion and communication intersects to create lasting impact. As a Speech Language Pathologist in one of Georgia's lively communities, you'll provide essential services that transcend typical therapy practices. Your expertise will help individuals of all ages - from curious little ones forming their first words to vibrant seniors regaining their voices - reshaping lives through a shared love of connection.

This position presents a remarkable chance to work with diverse populations in a flexible environment that combines outpatient care with intermittent inpatient assistance. Whatever your passion - whether it's aiding children with language delays, assisting adults with communication difficulties after strokes, or providing geriatric rehabilitation - a fulfilling adventure awaits you.

Description

  • Assess patients across all age groups using both standardized evaluations and a keen observational approach.
  • Create individualized treatment plans focusing on immediate goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing improvements.
  • Deliver tailored speech therapy interventions addressing communication, language, voice, and swallowing challenges.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physical and occupational therapists, medical professionals, caregivers, and family members to ensure cohesive treatment strategies.
  • Educate patients and their families, empowering continued progress beyond the clinic.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and treatments, ensuring seamless continuity in patient care.
  • Document treatment progress and maintain compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Pursue ongoing professional growth through education and collaboration with peers.

Education

  • A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
  • Certifications

  • A valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is highly preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • Skills

  • Expertise in evidence-based interventions for a diverse age range, understanding the nuances of developmental and acquired disorders affecting speech and swallowing.
  • Strong communication skills to engage effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to modify therapeutic approaches to accommodate various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Sound clinical judgment and adept problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficient in managing electronic health records and adhering to documentation standards.
  • Benefits

  • Competitive salary reflective of your experience.
  • Flexible scheduling to promote a work-life balance along with a varied caseload.
  • Specialization options in pediatrics, adult neuro rehab, or geriatrics.
  • Paid time off (PTO) and holiday benefits.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance offerings.
  • Financial support for continuing education and professional growth.
  • A collaborative team environment centered around quality care and continuous learning.
  • A Career That Inspires and Connects

In this role, you won't merely provide speech therapy; you'll partake in a heartfelt mission to elevate voices, nurture connections, and create joyous moments through understanding. You will collaborate with fellow clinicians who see each other as a support system rather than competition, where every patient comes with a unique narrative - and your role will be integral to help narrate their journey.

Why You'll Love Living and Working Here

Welcome to a corner of Georgia where history meets vibrant cultural expression. This city blends southern charm with a progressive spirit, providing an attractive canvas painted with picturesque parks and refreshing waters. Embrace a lifestyle where outdoor adventures await, whether it's relaxing by the river, exploring local art installations, or attending live music events celebrating local talent.

For families, weekends become a celebration filled with outdoor barbecues, community festivals, and remarkable dining experiences showcasing Georgia's culinary delights - from farm-to-table eateries to beloved, time-honored diners. The city's rich cultural overtones vibrate through every corner, from street fairs to gallery openings, providing endless engagement for professionals and families alike.

This region balances a modest cost of living with a blooming healthcare sector that invites growth in your career. With no state income tax, you'll find more opportunities to prosper personally and professionally, making it an ideal place to plant roots.

Whether you're embarking on your career journey or are an established professional seeking new horizons, this community has the potential to nourish you in both your personal and professional growth.

    Who We're Looking For

We are on the lookout for a Speech Language Pathologist who is motivated not just by results but also by an abiding sense of empathy. You see a timid child and envision a world of self-expression, and when you hear the faltering speech of a stroke survivor, you're inspired by their resolve.

You might be a pediatric specialist eager to extend your expertise into adult services, or perhaps a dedicated neuro-focused therapist looking to weave early interventions into your practice.

If heart-centered service and skillful leadership resonate with you, we're excited to welcome you into our community.

Let's Write a New Narrative Together

If you believe communication has the power to transform lives and therapy encompasses more than simple tasks - if you seek to build trust before setting goals and find joy in laughter alongside language - then this opportunity may be the next meaningful chapter of your professional story.

Join us in a community that honors communication, connectivity, and the courage to embrace new beginnings. Apply today, lend your voice to our passionate team, and guide others to rediscover theirs.
