Join our team as a Registered Nurse Lead at our newest behavioral health treatment campus, Maple Lane, near Centralia, WA.

offers innovative treatment for residents who are civilly committed, in need of competency restoration, or adjudicated not guilty by reason of mental diagnosis. Each residential unit helps shape the future of behavioral health, aligning with Washington State's vision of community-based care. Treating residents in smaller facilities, we help them stay closer to home, family, and support systems, fostering stronger community connections.

As a Registered Nurse 3 , you will be a member of a multi-disciplinary team, which is responsible for provides primary nursing care to residents within the facility. You will collaboratively work with the treatment team in the delivery of care as indicated in the integrated treatment plan. Each team member contributes to rehabilitating people diagnosed with behavioral health issues. RN3s oversee the staffing of RN2s and LPNs to ensure compliance with Nursing Standards of Care.

Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary. Evening and Night shifts include a shift differential in addition to the standard compensation rate.

Some of what you'll do

  • Supervise staff through knowledge, skills, and abilities to facilitate change in diverse populations
  • Oversee the processes of staffing nursing care on wards ensuring that the policies of the hospital and CBAs are followed
  • Assess, monitor, and interpret objective and subjective data collected about the health status, clinical condition or situation by interview, observation, inspection, and examination to identify patterns and variances from the desired outcome
  • Develop nursing diagnoses and outcomes to be achieved as a result of nursing intervention
  • Provides leadership for specific program areas and assists in coordinating daily operations, assists the Nurse Manager in developing, maintaining, and evaluating the ongoing operations of a clinical area
  • Contribute to the Multi-Disciplinary Treatment Plan in the delivery of nursing care, defining timeframes and pathways for delivery of services, prioritizing and sequencing care to be provided, ensuring continuity of care over time and place
  • Take action as necessary to obtain provider orders and accomplish prescribed interventions in a timely and clinically responsive manner
  • Revise the nursing plan of care as necessary to prevent complications and intervene to address new or emerging problems or to improve care and service delivery

Who should apply

  • Graduated from an accredited school of professional nursing and have a valid Washington State Registered Nurse license or the ability to obtain a valid Washington State license by the start of employment.
  • Two years working as an RN.
  • Experience working with people diagnosed with behavioral health conditions preferred.

    Insurance Benefits

    Retirement and Deferred Compensation

    State Employees are members of the Washington Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS). New employees have the option of two employer contributed retirement programs. For additional information, check out the Department of Retirement Systems' web site.

    Employees also have the ability to participate in the Deferred Compensation Program (DCP).     Social Security

    All state employees are covered by the federal Social Security and Medicare systems. The state and the employee pay an equal amount into the system.

    Public Service Loan Forgiveness

    Holidays

    Full-time and part-time employees are entitled to paid holidays and one paid personal holiday per calendar year.

    Note : Employees who are members of certain Unions may be entitled to additional personal leave day(s), please refer to position specific Collective Bargaining Agreements for more information.

    Full-time employees who work full monthly schedules qualify for holiday compensation if they are employed before the holiday and are in pay status for at least 80 nonovertime hours during the month of the holiday; or for the entire work shift preceding the holiday.

    Part-time employees who are in pay status during the month of the holiday qualify for the holiday on a pro-rata basis. Compensation for holidays (including personal holiday) will be proportionate to the number of hours in pay status in the month to that required for full-time employment, excluding all holiday hours. Pay status includes hours worked and time on paid leave.

    Sick Leave

    Full-time employees earn eight hours of sick leave per month. Overtime eligible employees who are in pay status for less than 80 hours per month, earn a monthly proportionate to the number of hours in pay status, in the month to that required for full-time employment. Overtime exempt employees who are in pay status for less than 80 hours per month do not earn a monthly accrual of sick leave.

    Sick leave accruals for part-time employees will be proportionate to the number of hours in pay status, in the month to that required for full-time employment. Pay status includes hours worked, time on paid leave and paid holiday.

    Vacation (Annual Leave)

    Full-time employees accrue vacation leave at the rates specified in (1) or the applicable collective bargaining agreement (CBA). Full-time employees who are in pay status for less than 80 nonovertime hours in a month do not earn a monthly accrual of vacation leave.

    Part-time employees accrue vacation leave hours in accordance with (1) or the applicable collective bargaining agreement (CBA) on a pro rata basis. Vacation leave accrual will be proportionate to the number of hours in pay status, in the month to that required for full-time employment.

    Pay status includes hours worked, time on paid leave and paid holiday.

    As provided in , an employer may authorize a lump-sum accrual of vacation leave or accelerate the vacation leave accrual rate to support the recruitment and / or retention of a candidate or employee for a Washington Management Service position. Vacation leave accrual rates may only be accelerated using the rates established WAC 357-31-165.

    Note : Most agencies follow the civil service rules covering leave and holidays for exempt employees even though there is no requirement for them to do so. However, agencies are required to adhere to the applicable RCWs pertaining holidays and leave.

    Military Leave

    Washington State supports members of the armed forces with 21 days paid military leave per year.

    Bereavement Leave

    Most employees whose family member or household member dies, are entitled to three (3) days of paid bereavement leave. In addition, the employer may approve other available leave types for the purpose of bereavement leave.
