The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for inspecting incoming and internally manufactured parts according to specifications, diagrams, and other written or verbal instructions. This role works within established quality standards and collaborates with other departments to implement and maintain the quality system.
Responsibilities :
- Receive reports within the Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERPS) to initiate quality reviews or inspections.
- Assemble information such as prints, diagrams, and purchase orders; identify errors or omissions; and recommend improvements for engineering documentation.
- Pull part or sub-assembly samples and inspect parts using prints and precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, height gage, etc.) per applicable Quality System Standards (QSS).
- Operate Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and move inspected parts to the staging area.
- Review and complete all quality documentation associated with parts, including ERPS updates.
- Support documentation control processes by initiating engineering change requests and writing non-conforming material reports (NCMRs) for rejected parts; forward to the Materials Review Board (MRB) or appropriate department.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve non-conformances and document errors; communicate and initiate necessary changes.
- Participate in MRB meetings to report non-conformances and discuss corrective actions.
- Communicate drawing specification issues to the Engineering Department.
- Maintain supplier performance documentation and interpret drawing specifications for the Machine Shop.
- Calibrate inspection tools as required.
Requirements :
Understanding and ability to apply quality system standards (e.g., ISO).Ability to set up and use precision gages and inspection tools.Strong organizational skills; able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under time constraints.High school diploma or GED required.Minimum of 2 years of quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment working with tight tolerances.Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.Pay Rate :
