Instrument Coordinator

Minimum Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required .

For Hire : High school graduate or possess the G.E.D . At least one year of experien ce as an instrument processor or Surgical Technologist . Certified Registered Central Service Technician ( CRCST) certification issued through International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM ) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) certification issued through The Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) required upon hire, or must obtain certification within 6 m onths of hire is required .

Computer Skills : Requires thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications , TECHSYS and Censitrac tracking and be capable of learning software programs and / or hardware as required.

Position Summary : Coordination and oversight of daily activities be tween the Operating Room and Sterile Processing Departments to facilitate efficient case flow, through efficient case cart assembly and decontamination, assembly and sterilization / high level disinfection of all repr ocessed surgical inventory. Responsible for assisting in projects and process improve ment. Promotes customer service and patient satisfaction through effective communication with Operating Room clinical operations and multiple sterile processing de partments across the Medical Center. Also responsible for ordering, procuring and organizing instrument trays on a global level to service the entire Enterprise.
