We are currently seeking to fill a Full-Time, Domestic Violence Victim Advocate role within our Charleston, Illinois office. This position answers to the Director of Advocacy. It may require some evenings, flexible hours, and coverage of the crisis hotline. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
Successful candidates will demonstrate an ability to commit to the philosophy and programming at HOPE of East Central Illinois, which includes a commitment to survivors' issues, and a shared belief in helping to create a society free from violence. Successful candidates must be willing to engage in difficult and direct communication in an effort to contribute to a healthy positive work culture. An understanding of issues facing rural communities, knowledge of community resources and a sensitivity to the needs of survivors and their children is required. Successful candidates must be able to communicate and work effectively with a diverse population of clients and must be able to work effectively as an individual as well as a team member.
