Key Responsibilities
As a Certified Medical Assistant with our practice, you will play an essential role in supporting both patients and providers :
- Greet and prepare patients for examinations, ensuring comfort and privacy.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during clinical procedures.
- Accurately record and update patient medical history, vital signs, and test results in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Provide patient education on treatment plans, diabetes management, and prenatal care when appropriate.
- Administer injections, collect specimens, and perform basic laboratory tasks.
- Assist with front desk responsibilities such as scheduling appointments, answering patient calls, verifying insurance, and maintaining organized medical records.
- Act as a liaison between patients and providers , ensuring questions and concerns are addressed promptly.
- Support daily clinical flow to keep operations efficient and patient care seamless.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent certification (required).
- At least 2 years of clinical experience in OB / GYN, perinatal medicine, or related healthcare fields preferred.
- Bilingual in English & Spanish (required for effective patient communication).
- Familiarity with diabetes management and patient education strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR / EHR systems).
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment .
- Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Compassionate, professional, and dedicated to providing high-quality patient care.
Clinical Experience
- Hands-on experience in direct patient care (OB / GYN or maternal-fetal experience is a plus).
- Knowledge of perinatal conditions, high-risk pregnancy protocols, and related procedures preferred.
- Confidence in handling sensitive patient cases with empathy and discretion.
Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts (approximately 40 hours / week).
- No weekends or holiday shifts.
