Responsibilities Position is in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of a children’s hospital and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center Patient population consists of critically ill pediatric patients with expected nurse-to-patient ratios of 1 : 2-3 Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts (7 : 00 pm – 7 : 00 am) and variable weekend requirements Block scheduling available Travelers may float between the PICU and other units and between sister facilities as needed Uses Epic EMR, prior experience required Navy scrubs required for RNs First-time travelers are welcome to apply Must be willing to float between all facilities within the state as needed Must commit to work at least 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) Returning staff must have a 3-month separation before returning as travelers Free staff parking and bike racks available Minimal to no request time off (RTO) is strongly preferred, and all time off must be requested up front Travelers refusing to float may risk contract termination Requirements Active TX or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration At least 1 year of recent experience in a pediatric intensive care setting required Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Two supervisory references from the past three years required Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; locals accepted at a lower rate Must provide SSN, date of birth, driver’s license, and required immunization records No background or Nursys report issues accepted Completion of non-billable modules before start and annually Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-622997.
