Per Diem Patient Access Representative

The Per Diem Patient Access Representative plays an important role in creating a positive experience for patients and families by managing registration, verification, and communication processes. This position supports accurate and efficient patient intake while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities include :

• Meeting with patients or their caregivers to exchange required information and documentation, providing clear explanations of processes and addressing any questions or concerns.
• Communicating with unit staff and other appropriate personnel to coordinate necessary details and determine patient placement.
• Verifying insurance benefits, obtaining precertification or authorization when needed, and ensuring verification of medical necessity.
• Determining and collecting required payments, including co-pays, deductibles, and coinsurance, or referring patients to financial counselors for additional support.
• Accurately obtaining, reviewing, and entering all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information in the registration system in a timely manner.

This role requires strong communication skills, accuracy, and a customer-focused approach, with flexibility to support various hospital or clinic departments as needed.
