Job description

The Device Clinic Specialist works in a highly specialized area that encompasses pacemakers, defibrillators, loop recorders and remote monitors. Position is Monday – Friday.

Daily Responsibilities :

  • Require time in the device clinic as well as in hospital device checks.
  • Participates in the management of the device clinic's equipment and supplies.
  • Functions as a resource regarding device / CRM issues.
  • Encourages other staff members to develop and expand their CRM knowledge and skills.
  • Participates in the department's QI processes.
  • Works collaboratively with other departments to solve issues related to patient care, particularly when related to CRM issues.
  • Educates patients and their families regarding device function and appropriate response to alarm conditions or other changes in device operation.
  • Complete patient documentation in a timely manner.
  • Helps maintain the device clinic schedule and patient database to provide optimal patient care and maximize productivity.
  • Works closely with department management to ensure patient satisfaction is as high as possible as well as financial success.

Requirements :

  • Associate's Degree
  • Current BLS certification
  • ACLS within 6 months of employment
  • Cardiac experience and cardiac rhythm interpretation required, one year.
  • Preferred :

  • IBHRE certification
  • RN licensure
  • Previous device clinic experience.
