What You'll Do

Estate Planning

  • Draft and prepare estate planning documents : Wills, Revocable and Irrevocable Trusts, Powers of Attorney, Health Care Directives, and Deeds
  • Prepare client asset summaries, flowcharts, and document binders
  • Assist attorneys during consultations and signing appointments
  • Coordinate document execution, notarization, and deed recording across multiple counties
  • Maintain organized, up-to-date client files from intake through completion
  • Trust Administration

  • Manage active trust administration files from start to finish, ensuring all deadlines are met
  • Gather and organize asset information; track funding progress and account distributions
  • Draft correspondence to beneficiaries, financial institutions, and advisors
  • Use Excel and Quicken to maintain trust accounting spreadsheets, reconcile balances, and prepare financial summaries
  • Assist attorneys with trustee reports, certifications, and closing documents
  • Maintain clear and proactive communication with clients throughout the process
  • Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant (estate planning or trust administration preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; confident and professional with clients
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Quicken, and Outlook (WealthCounsel experience a plus)
  • Comfort with numbers, spreadsheets, and financial recordkeeping
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (Paralegal Studies preferred)
