Pay Information

$20 to $23 per hour

About The Position

Feed and water animals

Clean and sanitize cages, rooms, and facilities

Conduct routine physical exams and lab tests

Handle animals for researchers and procedures

Assess and record details of animal shipments (ID, weight, health)

Administer medications and injections (under supervision)

Sex / species / strain identification

Support surgical and experimental procedures

Collect and report data on animal facility operations

Breed and wean animals as required

Job Requirements

Understanding of animal care, disease prevention, and husbandry regulations

Basic interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills

Ability to follow detailed oral and written instructions

Competence with computer software

Manual dexterity and physical fitness for handling animals and equipment

🎓 Education / Experience Required :

High school diploma or GED

AND 1 year of experience in laboratory animal care , including use, handling, and / or treatment

Candidate may qualify instead of the above experience by meeting one of the following :

AALAS Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician Certification

2 years of directly related animal care experience

Associate degree or higher + 6 months of animal care experience
