Job Description
This role is field-based and requires candidates to live within a reasonable distance from the primary city. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience. The geography covers western Washington (Bellingham, Seattle, Olympia, Issaquah, and surrounding areas) and the entire state of Alaska. The representative will execute brand strategy and tactics in the field, manage assigned territory and targeted accounts, build strong customer relationships, and maximize short‑ and long‑term sales performance, placing the patient at the center of all efforts and operating within AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies, and applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed expectations.
- Create pre‑call plans using SMART objectives and execute post‑call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance. Effectively handle objections and concerns to close every sales call.
- Proactively serve customer needs, expectations, and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win‑win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
- Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Continuously build understanding of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease, product, and clinical expertise; share this market intelligence with the in‑field team, brand team, and sales manager.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify, develop, and maintain disease‑state experts and speakers / advocates to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business‑related field preferred or relevant; equivalent industry experience required.At least five (5) years of experience with three (3) or more years in the pharmaceutical / health / science industry; high school diploma / GED required.Demonstrated in‑depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; recognized as an expert resource by stakeholders. Strong business acumen, strategic, and critical thinking skills; able to operate effectively in a matrix environment.Proven track record of sales success and strong presentation skills; adapts selling approach to customer style and behavior.Influences others, respected role model, builds collaborative partnerships across district colleagues and matrix teams; leads by example and coaches peers.Documented success in leadership and supportive roles at district, region, or organizational levels; utilizes findings to develop sales strategies.Preferred : Proven sales performance within therapeutic areas; experience in physician / account‑based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing.Ability to satisfy all applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain and maintain entry into facilities within the territory.Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre‑employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.Responsibility for driving a personal auto or company vehicle, or powered material handling equipment.Key Stakeholders
External : Specialty physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and other brand‑plan stakeholders. Internal : In‑field team members, sales management, marketing management, training, customer excellence, and brand plan stakeholders.

The compensation range described above is the base pay range that AbbVie believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of posting.
