Kitchell is seeking an experienced and dedicated BIM Technician to join our Engineering and Architectural Services team in Sacramento, CA and build a long-term career at one of the most innovative and growth-oriented building companies in the United States.

Schedule : Hybrid after a 90 introductory period
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop BIM 2D and 3D drawings including maintaining integrity of information within the BIM model.
- Develop BIM model in accordance with the appropriate level of detail (LOD) for each project.
- Confer with design staff to determine design modifications and enters information into BIM model.
- Create electronic and hard copy documents for design staff review and submittals.
- Create initial BIM project setup with workflow documents to prepare design documents.
- Review red-lines, rough sketches, drawings, specifications and other data to determine critical dimensions of design.
- Manage project files relating to BIM / CAD documents within the project folder structure.
- Develop and maintains BIM / CAD standards to improve productivity and interchange of design documents.
- Create BIM content for all disciplines, including parametric, formula driven, nested and type catalogs.
- Support linked models and model management structure.
- Responsible for archiving of projects at major project milestones and software upgrades.
- Propose and review integration of 3rd party plug-ins and other supported applications.
- Works as a BIM / CAD support member to provide technical support for AUTOCAD & REVIT Architecture, Structure, Civil and MEP.
- Provide over the shoulder training to staff.
- Develop support documents and tutorials for staff.
- Develops and maintains BIM / CAD standards to improve productivity and interchange of design documents.
- Assists in estimating accurate conceptual and detailed cost projections.
- Utilizes safe work practices and follows directives, policies and procedures for assisting and maintaining a healthy and safe work environment.
- Executes additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education and Experience
Required :
Associate’s degree from an accredited two-year college or technical school in computer aided drafting and design or related field.Minimum 2 years progressive and position related work experience in computer aided drafting or related field.Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of latest Revit / CAD systems required.Knowledge of architecture, engineering and construction management related processes, as well as industry practices.Knowledge of the creation, editing and organization best practices of Revit familiesEffective computer skills including proficient use of Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Photoshop, Illustrator and specialized software appropriate to professional qualification required.Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to foster and maintain effective interpersonal relationships.Effective organization skills, including the ability to prioritize and plan work.Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to frequent change, delays or unexpected events.Ability to manage a team of technicians in the production of quality projects delivered on time and within budget.Ability to demonstrate the competencies of achieving results, communication, teamwork and analytical thinking.Commitment to the values of Kitchell with attention to honesty and integrity, quality of work, customer satisfaction, people development, profitability and managing change.License and Certifications
A valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record, free from suspensions or restrictions, is required.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the position is moderately active and the employee is frequently standing, walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.The position also may also be sitting for long periods of time.The employee may frequently lift and / or move items up to 50 pounds.Travel Requirement
Travel may be required based on project needs.Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a motor vehicle in accordance with company policies and state regulations.Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly work in an office and or construction environment.Conditions regularly include exposure to outdoor elements, hot / cold temperatures, wet conditions, noise, atmospheric conditions and cramped quarters.The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud. The annual base salary range for this role is currently $75,000 - $95,000. The Company’s salary ranges are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of various factors, including job-related skills, relevant education and experience, abilities of the applicant and equity with other team members. The annual base salary range listed here is subject to change at any time, in the Company’s discretion, and does not alter in any way the at-will nature of the employment relationship.
